Introduced in 2012, this reference 15202* pays tribute to the original 5402 pieces, and is especially reminiscent of the earliest examples in the series. With a classical size of 39mm, the watch also features a large 'tapisserie' patterned dial and luminous hands and indexes that are typically representative of the Royal Oak.
In 2012, AP introduced the updated reference 15202 to mark the reference 5402's 40th anniversary. The watch is classically sized at just 39mm in diameter bearing all the typical hallmarks of the Royal Oak pieces, with its porthole shaped, octagonal bezel, courtesy of Gérald Genta.
This reference 15202 is distinguished by the placement of the AP logo above 6 o'clock, as most modern examples of the Royal Oak typically have the AP logo at 12 o'clock. The larger grid pattern of the tapisserie dial reflects light from different angles, giving the blue dial a striking depth. The dial further features a matching blue date aperture at 3 o'clock, in addition to luminous hands and indexes.
The 15202 Royal Oak is powered by the ultra-thin AP caliber 2121, derived from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legendary ultra-thin JLC 920 calibre movement. The caliber 2121 was based on the caliber 2120, an initial project of Jaeger LeCoultre in 1967, funded and contributed by Audemars Piguet, and famous for its adoption by Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. The ultra-thin automatic 2121 calibre features 36 working jewels, Gyromax balance and four ruby wheels to support the full-diameter rotor, which runs on a beryllium rail for stability.

Condition
This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo is in very good condition throughout. Light superficial marks can be found on the case, lugs, and bracelet. More specifically on the brushed portion of the bezel between five and 6 o'clock as well as between eight and nine o'clock. On the polished facet of the bezel, light scuffs are found at both the twelve and six o'clock positions. There is also a minor ding on the edge of the bezel where the brushed and polished finishings meet, between six and seven o'clock. The dial, hands, and movement are free from any signs of imperfection. The engravings on the caseback are crisp and well-defined.
